YIELD is a pour-over coffee brewing journal app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how YIELD handles your information.

Data We Collect

YIELD collects and stores the following data locally on your device:

Brew records: Coffee doses, water amounts, temperatures, brew times, ratings, and tasting notes
Bean information: Coffee bean names, roasters, origins, roast dates, and photos you take of coffee bags
Equipment settings: Grinder names and settings, dripper preferences
Recipes: Custom pour-over recipes you create

How Your Data is Stored

Local Storage: All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework
iCloud Sync (Optional): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is protected by your Apple ID and is not accessible to us
Photos: Bean bag photos are stored locally on your device and in your iCloud (if sync is enabled)

Data We Do NOT Collect

YIELD does not:

Collect personal information (name, email, address)
Use analytics or tracking services
Send data to external servers
Share data with third parties
Use advertising or ad tracking
Require account registration

Bluetooth Connectivity

YIELD can connect to Bluetooth coffee scales to read weight measurements during brewing. This connection is:

Initiated only by you
Used only for real-time weight display
Not logged or transmitted anywhere

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can:

Delete individual brews, beans, or recipes within the app
Delete all app data by uninstalling the app
Manage iCloud data through your device's Settings

Children's Privacy

YIELD does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is designed for adult coffee enthusiasts.
